The 6 days mountain gorilla trekking Safari is a mountain gorilla trekking spree. It gives an opportunity to trek and see mountain gorillas in all the three countries, Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. These three countries are the only habitats of the rare and famous mountain gorillas in the world.

Many people visit either of these countries to get a chance to enjoy these apes, now on the 6 days safari, you get to see the apes in all the three countries. Since mountain gorilla trekking safaris are about the conservation of gorillas, you will need to observe all the gorilla trekking rules that include but not limited to:- keeping a distance between you and the gorillas, not engaging in anything that can harm the gorillas, not using flash photography, not destroying the gorilla habitat among other things. The rules are communicated prior by your tour operator and before the trek by the trekking rangers.

Day 1 : Arrival

This safari will begin in Uganda, so you will have to start the safari from Kampala. You will be up early on day one, have a meal and then embark on a 9 to 10 hour travel to south western Uganda. This is whole day drive and you will have a stop for lunch along the way. You will arrive in Bwindi in the evening, check into you accommodation, have dinner and rest for the day.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

You will be up pretty early, have breakfast and then head to the park headquarters for a briefing before you go trekking. After the brief you will enter the forest for the trekking experience.  The whole experience may take about 6 to 8 hours or more depending on the sector you are trekking. You will spend only an hour with the gorillas. After you will exit the forest, debrief at the park headquarters and then to your accommodation for dinner and day’s rest.

Day 3 : Drive to Volcanoes N.P

You will be up at leisure have a meal and then travel south to Rwanda. The jounery from Bwindi to Rwanda is about 4 to 5 hours so you will arrive in Rwanda – Volcanoes National Park in the very late afternoon or evening. You will check into your accommodation, eat and rest.

Day 4 : Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes N.P

You will be up early, have breakfast and then a trekking brief at the park headquarters. You will then head to the forest for the trekking experience. This will take about 5 to 6 hours with one hour spent with the gorillas.  You will be done with the by the afternoon, you will then go to your accommodation for lunch and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 5 : Drive to Virunga N.P

On this day you will travel to the Democratic republic of Congo by road. You will go through Goma – where you will need a DRC visa before you are admitted into Congo. From Goma you will head to Virunga National Park, where you will spend the night.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Virunga N.P

You will be up early have a brief and then head into the forest for your trekking experience, like the two previous treks you will spend one hour with the gorillas. This trek will take you about 4 to 5 hours. After you will head back to your accommodation for lunch and then set off for Rwanda.

You will reach Rwanda in the evening. And you will spend a night in Kigali city.
