Bwindi Mountain Gorillas

There are 15 habituated gorilla Safari groups in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which are tracked from four trailheads. Bwindi’s 15 habituated gorilla groups are situated in various parts of the park, including 3 in Buhoma, 4 in Ruhija, and 8 in Nkuringo and Rushaga, located south of the park.

Each tracking group consists of strictly eight individuals with each group having a park guide and ranger. Depending on how quickly and easily the gorillas are spotted, tracking the gorillas can take anywhere from one to six hours. As soon as you have found a group of gorillas, you will be given exactly an hour with them, so you should maximize your time well and make sure you take lots of pictures without using the flash of your camera. The tracking trails can be very wet, steep and slippery thus you should wear a good pair of hiking boots.

After your gorilla trekking experience, you  will head  back to your lodge for lunch and if you had your packaged lunch, you could simply relax for a short period of time and then check out of the lodge and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Once you have arrived at the hotel, you will have the opportunity to relax or swim as you unwind the entire afternoon.

Dinner and after night at the hotel.

Day 3:  Lake Bunyonyi experience and Drive back to Kampala.

You will have the chance to explore one of the most beautiful and stunning lakes in the world today: Lake Bunyonyi. Breakfast in the morning and head to the lake for a boat cruise to see the different islands. The lake is the third deepest lake in the world, and it is well known for its 29 islands.

The trip will include a boat ride on one of the traditional canoes and exploration of some of the popular islands on the lake, including ‘the punishment island,’ where young women were abandoned in isolation when they got pregnant out of wedlock long ago.

During your tour of the lake, you will also have the chance to see a variety of bird species, which you can observe while on the lake.

As soon as you have finished your tour of Lake Bunyonyi, your guide will transfer you back to Kampala City. It is possible for you to have a short tour of Kampala’s city depending on the time of your arrival in Kampala and the schedule of your flight to your home country. Getting the Kampala city tour incorporated into your travel itinerary is as simple as informing your travel consultant from Lakeside Tours and Travel if you are interested in doing so.
