2 days Congo gorilla safari introduces you to Virunga national park which is a home to the endangered mountain gorillas. The national park is known to be the oldest national park in Africa and it was formed in 1925 which at one time includes the volcanoes national park of Rwanda and parts of Mgahinga national park.

DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 1; TRANSFER TO CONGO BORDER

Early in the morning, you will be picked by the safari guide driver and brief you about the Congo safari. After you will embark on your journey to Congo. While in Gisenyi you will head for lunch as you wait to cross the border. After crossing to Congo you will head to the Virunga national park where you will check into your lodge and have a rest as you wait for the next day activities.

DAY 2; GORILLA TREKKING IN VIRUNGA AND TRAVEL BACK TO KIGALI

Early in the morning, you will be picked by the Congo safari guide and drive you to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will head into the forest of Virunga in search of the gorillas.

Once the gorillas are located, you will spend with them an hour as you observe their behaviors. The gorilla trekking takes 2 to 4 hours. After you will have lunch and embark on the journey back to Kigali

After crossing the border and reaching to Kigali, the safari guide will drop you off to the airport for your flight back home.
