Tour itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Kigali international airport
On our first day of the 13 Days Uganda Congo safari, you will be welcomed by our company representative who will transfer you to the hotel that has been booked for your dinner and stay overnight, take your time to relax, and prepare for the following day’s adventures.
Day 2: Transfer to Goma
Early morning breakfast after which we will transfer to Gisenyi Border passing through the beautiful landscapes of the Country, the backdrop of the volcanic mountain is heavenly and tea plantations, we clear at the Border and transfer to Goma in the democratic republic of congo, your guide will drive you to the tourism office to receive your Congo Gorilla trekking permit, after which transfer to check in at the lodge for dinner and staying overnight at Kibumba tented camp
Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Virunga national park
We will take something to eat after which we transfer to Bukima park center for registration and a briefing from the park rangers, trekking gorillas takes 2 or more hours depending on how far they have gone, you will have the chance to appreciate the Congo forest along the floor of the great Albertine rift valley region, you will get thrilled upon meeting the gentle strong brown species, an hour is allowed to be with the gorillas and return to the camp for relaxation and have something to eat.
Day 4: Hike Mount Nyiragongo
We will wake up in the morning with our Hiking gears ready, Nyiragongo is an active volcano inside of the Virunga national park, it makes up part of the eight series of the Virunga volcanic region, and the fired glaze of the mountain at the summit is worth the long hike, you will report at the Hiking center beginning before 8:30 am, the real Hike starts at 9:00 am the speed of Hike depends on the last person. The ranger will guide you through all day, upon reaching the Summit you will check into your cabins, and later in the night come out to watch the active volcano.
Day 5: Descend Nyiragongo –Transfer to Kigali
You will have breakfast after which descend to the starting point, descending is much easier so it will take a few hours to reach, arriving to meet your guide who will transfer you to Lake Kivu for a relaxed evening along with its showers dinner, and staying overnight
Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
On this day we will Transfer to the pearl of Africa, to the home of mountain gorillas in Bwindi impenetrable national park, it takes 4 hours’ drive to reach the protected conservation area via the Cyanika border, you will arrive at the ancient forest through its Northern sector Buhoma, Bwindi hosts half the population of mountain gorillas living freely without being captivated, it is among Africa’s few places to locate the primate species
Day 7: Gorilla trekking and Batwa cultural experience
Early morning breakfast after which we will transfer to the park headquarters for gorilla trekking activity, you will have a briefing from the game rangers on the do’s and don’ts while with the Mountain gorilla, trekking gorillas is a beautiful experience as you will get to have a bonus of the ancient forest which is said to have survived the Ice age, real life lies here, the cool breeze and sound of the birds is magical, trekking time can be 2 or more hours depending on how far the gorilla Families have moved, returning for a Lunch and an afternoon entertainment from the Batwa cultural group of people, they will dance traditional music songs, show you how to make fire without a match stick, and many medicinal purposes of the forest
Day 8: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
Queen Elizabeth national park is Uganda’s second largest conservation area posing with lots of wild animals to see, it takes approximately 5-6 hours Via Ishasha sector south of Queen Elizabeth national park, it is the only place to see tree climbing lions in Uganda, you will spot animals in this corridor like elephants, waterbucks, you can have an optional evening game drive or visit the Katwe salt lakes and the community
Day 9: Game drives and Kazinga boat cruise
We will wake up for early morning breakfast, and drive to the Kasenyi plains in search of animals, especially the morning risers, Like the Cats, this is the best time to spot wildlife as they come out to graze before it’s the day comes, you will spot elephants, giraffes, lions, kobs, topi, buffaloes, returning to the lodge for lunch and an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, expect to see huge schools of hippos and several animal species coming to graze and drink water.
Day 10: Transfer to Kibale forest national park –Chimpanzee tracking
Driving to Kibale forest national park for Queen Elizabeth national park is 2-3 hours, we will hit the road following breakfast, passing through the vegetative savannah, arriving in time for a hot lunch at the lodge and an afternoon Chimpanzee tracking, tracking will begin shortly after a briefing, into the tropical rain forest you will look for Mans closest relative, it is said to share up to 98 % of the human DNA, Chimps love to nest in the trees, they are social and intelligent species living in troops of up to 100 members these are led by a male Alpha, their loud Charter voice will make you recognize them even before reaching where they are, an hour is allowed to meet the Chimpanzee, take pictures and enjoy the primates, along the hike it is possible to meet other residents of the park like the L’hoest Monkey, Black, and White colobus monkey, olive baboons, red endangered colobus, monkey, blue monkeys, vervet monkeys.
Day 11: Transfer to Murchison falls national park
On this day we will have an all-day drive to Northern Uganda, passing through the Villages of Kagadi in Fort portal, expect a lunch stopover, Murchison falls national park in Uganda is the largest, oldest, and first gazette protected area, and you will be amazed by the waterfall Murchison from which the park gets its name, there is not much to see on this day rather than enjoy the beautiful rolling hills, small towns, and villages of Uganda, arriving in the evening for dinner and staying overnight at
Day 12: Game drives and boat cruise on the Nile
Morning game drive following an early breakfast, your driver guide will transfer you to the park’s northern bank for wildlife, expect to spot a number of animals like the Jackson hartebeests, oribi, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, Rothschilds giraffes, waterbucks, returning to the lodge for lunch and an afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls, it begins at the Para dock, for 2-3 hours enjoying the cruise, along the banks of the River Nile you will spot animals like the Nile crocodile and Hippos.
Day 13: Transfer to Entebbe for departure.
We will have breakfast after which transfer to Entebbe to catch your international flight back home from the adventures.
